The Ministry of Transportation conducted a secret investigation and found that some of the ferries on the inland rivers did not meet the requirements for safe navigation.

Recently, the Maritime Bureau of the Ministry of Transport sent a secret investigation team to Shanxi, Hunan, Yunnan, and Qinghai provinces to continue the secret investigation of passenger ferry operations on inland rivers. A total of 69 locations including ships, terminals, and enterprises were involved, with a focus on inspecting the installation and use of intelligent monitoring systems, the condition of life-saving equipment, the staffing of ships, and other factors affecting the safety of passenger ferry operations. It was found that some enterprises had significant shortcomings in implementing their primary responsibilities and that some ships did not meet navigational requirements.
