Shenzhen Airport T2 terminal area has started construction, with a designed annual passenger throughput of 31 million.

On the 23rd, the construction of the T2 terminal area, North cargo area, and comprehensive supporting facilities at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport officially started. The completion of these two projects will promote the multiple leaps in scale, guarantee capacity, operational efficiency, and development space of Shenzhen Airport. The T2 terminal area project that started this time is located on the north side of the airport, between the first and second runways. After completion, it will together with the T3 terminal area and satellite hall form the central terminal area of Shenzhen Airport. The project is designed to handle 31 million passengers per year, and will include the construction of a 400,000 square meter main functional area of the T2 terminal building, 53 aircraft parking stands, as well as supporting facilities such as a 30,000 square meter rail transfer center, a 30,000 square meter ground transportation center, and a 143,500 square meter parking building.
