On the 22nd, Wang Xiaohong, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Public Security, met with Alvarez, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of the Interior, in Beijing. Wang Xiaohong stated that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba. China is willing to work together with Cuba to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries. They will further solidify the mechanism of ministerial meetings, strengthen personnel exchanges and law enforcement capacity building, deepen practical cooperation in law enforcement and security, safeguard the security and interests of both countries, and make greater contributions to building a closer community of shared destiny between China and Cuba. Alvarez expressed willingness to further strengthen coordination and cooperation with China and jointly respond to security risks and challenges.
