Journalists learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that China's first mandatory national standard for controlling hazardous substances in the electronics industry, "Requirements for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products," has been officially released. This marks the availability of a national standard for controlling hazardous substances in the electronics industry, providing clear guidance for the green innovation and upgrade of China's electrical and electronic products. The standard specifies requirements for the limits of hazardous substances in products, labeling requirements, and compliance assessment rules, as well as stipulating testing methods for hazardous substance content. This standard will promote green design and production of electrical and electronic products, safeguard the health of product users, and reduce the risk of secondary pollution to the environment in the disposal process of products. More than 30,000 types of electrical and electronic products in China have already completed hazardous substance compliance assessments.
