The construction rope of the Jiansha Yellow River super bridge on the Qinghai section of the Chuanqing Railway broke, resulting in 6 deaths and 10 people missing.
At around 3:10 a.m. this morning, a major accident occurred during construction at the Jieza Yellow River Bridge on the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, when a steel strand broke. At the time of the incident, there were 16 personnel working on site. According to the Qinghai Provincial Emergency Management Department, 6 people have died and 10 people are missing. Qinghai has now initiated a Level III emergency response to the major emergency, setting up an emergency command center. Various departments including emergency response, fire, transportation, public security, health, and armed police have been mobilized to carry out rescue operations, with a total of 66 rescue vehicles, 23 boats, and 386 personnel dedicated to full-scale search and rescue efforts.
