The head of Peru's regulatory agency Perupetro announced on Thursday that China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will begin investing approximately $500 million in natural gas production in Peru starting in November next year. Pedro Chira, the director of Perupetro, also stated that a consortium operated by Andarko Petroleum, Chevron, and Westlawn will begin drilling in an offshore exploration block with an investment of $100 million by the end of this year.
