The head of Peru's regulatory agency Perupetro said on Thursday local time that China National Petroleum Corporation will begin producing natural gas in Peru in November next year, with an investment of about $500 million. Perupetro director Pedro Chira said a consortium operated by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Chevron, and Westlawn will also begin drilling an offshore exploration block by the end of this year, with an investment of $100 million.
