The prices of rare earth main varieties have risen rapidly, with an average increase of more than 10,000 yuan/ton since August. At the same time, the price of permanent magnets has also risen rapidly, with the latest price of NdFeB N35 at 144.5 yuan/kg, an increase of 10.7% within the month and 51.3% within the year. In 2024, rare earth prices significantly declined, causing the performance of A-share rare earth sector to plummet. With the dual impact of low performance base and rising rare earth prices, the rare earth sector has seen a performance turnaround this year. According to Securities Times-Data Bao statistics, as of August 21st, 14 rare earth permanent magnet stocks have released their first half-year performance data, with most companies expecting increased profits or turning losses around. The leading stock, Northern Rare Earth, has seen its net profit increase by more than 18 times year-on-year.
