Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook has indicated that she plans to continue staying at the central bank, despite President Trump's demand for her immediate resignation over alleged mortgage fraud. "I have no intention of being forced to resign due to certain issues raised in a tweet," Cook stated in a statement. "As a member of the Federal Reserve, I do take any questions regarding my financial records seriously, therefore I am collecting accurate information to answer any reasonable questions and provide facts." The director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Bill Pulte, has recently urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate two mortgage loans taken out by Cook. President Trump called for Cook's resignation on social media early Wednesday morning.
