The China Passenger Car Association released data showing that from August 1st to 17th, the national retail sales of passenger cars reached 866,000 units, a 2% increase from the same period last August and an 8% increase from the previous month. The cumulative retail sales for the year reached 13.611 million units, a 10% increase compared to last year. During the same period, the national retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 502,000 units, a 9% increase from the same period last August and a 12% increase from the previous month. The retail penetration rate of new energy passenger cars in the national market was 58.0%, with a cumulative retail sales of 6.958 million units so far this year, a 28% year-on-year increase.
