Pakistan launches anti-dumping investigation into China's para-xylene

On August 16, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan issued announcement number ADC70/2025/NTC/PTA, stating that in response to the application submitted by the sole producer of purified terephthalic acid in Pakistan, Lotte Chemical Pakistan Ltd., on July 14, 2025, an anti-dumping investigation has been initiated against purified terephthalic acid originating from China. The period of dumping investigation is from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the period of injury investigation is from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2025. The involved product in the case has a Pakistan tax code of 2917.3610. It is expected that the preliminary ruling will be made within 60 to 180 days from the date of registration. The announcement takes effect from the date of publication.
