U.S. National Intelligence Director Turki Gabard posted on X on Monday, stating that the UK government will no longer compel Apple to provide so-called "backdoors" to data from American users. In January of this year, the UK issued an order requiring iPhone manufacturer Apple to remove advanced encryption technology from user data stored in cloud services. The UK government hopes to access global user data, which may include communication data such as voice memos and phone data backups.
