U.S. intelligence chief: The UK no longer requires Apple to create "backdoors" for the data of American users.
US National Intelligence Director, Turley Gabbard, posted on X on Monday that the UK government will no longer force Apple to provide so-called "backdoors" to data of American users. In January of this year, the UK issued an order requiring iPhone maker Apple to remove the most advanced encryption technology from user data stored on cloud services, the UK government hopes to access global user data, which may include communication data such as voice memos and phone data backups.
