European experts: US tariffs impact European exports
Kasten Brzeski, head of macroeconomic research at the Netherlands International Group, said on the 18th that the latest trade data shows that the United States' high tariff policy has impacted European exports. Brzeski said that the data released by Eurostat on that day showed the situation of European exports after the first round of US tariffs. Overall, industrial data in Europe has been highly volatile in the first few months of this year. This is mainly due to companies exporting to the US in advance before the tariffs took effect, and then reducing exports due to the high tariffs. Brzeski believes that since the beginning of the year, factors such as the strengthening of the euro, US tariff measures, uncertainty about the global trade outlook, and intense competition faced by European exporters may continue to drag down European exports in the future.
