Douyin E-commerce Crackdown on Infringement and Counterfeiting, Disposing of more than 24,000 Violating Influencer Accounts This Year
On August 12th, the Douyin E-commerce Safety and Trust Center released a statement saying that a recent platform inspection found that a small number of influencers had unauthorizedly violated the image of other creators, using AI technology to tamper with original content and publish short videos for product promotion, while also impersonating their profile picture, nickname, and live streaming content for illegal live streaming and product promotion. Since 2025, the Douyin E-commerce Intellectual Property Protection Platform has received over 64,000 complaints regarding infringing Douyin influencers. After verifying each of these leads, over 24,000 accounts of violators were dealt with.
