The highest temperature of the day exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, and Chongqing issues a level two heatstroke warning.
From July 31st to August 2nd, Chongqing experienced a large-scale and sustained high temperature weather. In eight districts and counties including Yuzhong, Nan'an, Dadukou, Jiangbei, Liangjiang New Area, Tongnan, Fengjie, and Wuxi, as well as some areas in the central urban area, the daily maximum temperature exceeded 40C for three consecutive days. It is expected that from August 3rd to 6th, Chongqing will continue to experience sunny and hot weather, with daily maximum temperatures above 37C in most areas. In areas below 400 meters in altitude, such as Yuzhong and Shapingba, the daily maximum temperature can reach 40-43C, making heatstroke very likely to occur. The Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and the Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a "level two heatstroke warning" at 14:00 on August 2nd, reminding relevant areas and units to strengthen the monitoring and reporting of heatstroke cases, the treatment of heatstroke patients, the promotion of heat prevention and cooling knowledge in various forms, and the provision of consultation and prophylactic medication for workers operating in high-temperature environments.
