Recently, the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom conducted a test in the Mediterranean Sea, launching and recovering an unmanned underwater vehicle from a submarine's standard torpedo tube. According to media reports, the test, known as the "Skula Program," demonstrated that attack nuclear submarines can control unmanned underwater vehicles using existing torpedo tubes while completely submerged. This technology project is reportedly a core component of the AUSUKUS alliance agreement, falling under the framework of the alliance's "second pillar." The "second pillar" aims to jointly develop cutting-edge military technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and underwater unmanned systems, with equal strategic importance to the "first pillar" which provides nuclear submarines for Australia.
