Beijing Municipal Cyberspace Administration has launched a special campaign to crack down on online accounts spreading harmful information about businesses, and has lawfully dealt with a group of accounts that violated laws and regulations.
Since May, the Beijing Cyberspace Administration has organized the "Clean and Optimize the Business Environment Online - Special Action to Rectify Enterprise-Related 'Black Mouth'" to strengthen the management of enterprise-related information content on local websites, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises and entrepreneurs online, and support the high-quality development of the capital's economy. As of now, local website platforms have been guided to clear more than 498,000 pieces of illegal and irregular information, and more than 21,000 illegal and irregular accounts have been dealt with in accordance with the law. Accounts such as "Taihang Dragon D5", "* Runze Model *", and "Silent *" have been discrediting and attacking the quality of enterprise products, spreading false information to tarnish the reputation of enterprises, and maliciously attacking enterprises. The accounts involved have been lawfully closed or banned. The account "Yuziben" posted negative information about enterprises and then demanded "public relations fees" from the companies under the guise of "deleting posts". The accounts involved have been closed in accordance with the law.
