American energy company Sempra and JERA have signed a long-term agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas.
On July 31, the US energy company Sempra announced that it has reached a 20-year supply agreement with Japan's largest electric power company JERA for 1.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Sempra also plans to expand its export facilities under construction in Texas, USA. The expansion will double the facility's annual production capacity to 13 million tons, with the first phase of the project currently under construction and expected to be operational between 2027 and 2028.
