On July 31, according to the website of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the Commission obtained a disqualification order against Zhang Yuqing, former vice chairman and executive director of CM International Holdings Limited. Without the court's permission, Zhang is not allowed to serve as a director of any listed or unlisted corporation in Hong Kong, nor participate in the management of such corporations, for a period of six years. The length of the disqualification reflects the seriousness of his misconduct. He was also ordered to pay the legal costs of the Securities and Futures Commission in the relevant legal proceedings. The legal proceedings stem from the Commission's investigation, which uncovered improper conduct by Zhang during his tenure at CM International.
