On July 29th, Guangdong Foshan initiated a level III response to the sudden public health emergency in light of the current situation of dengue fever prevention and control. Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne infectious disease, with the main vector being the Aedes mosquito. On July 31st, officials from the Foshan Health and Family Planning Commission told reporters that all reported cases in each district are mild. Mr. Pan, who was infected in July, told reporters that the most difficult part after taking medication to reduce fever was the recurrent fever, but he recovered and was discharged from the hospital after a week of illness. Mr. Chen, a resident, mentioned that there are many water puddles in the local rivers and roads, which are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. He has taken various measures at home to prevent mosquitoes. Currently, Foshan is continuing to carry out mosquito control and prevention actions in various areas.
