Hohhot: A plan for orderly integration with national child-rearing subsidies has been formulated to ensure that municipal child-rearing subsidies only increase and do not decrease.

Regarding how to connect the local childcare subsidy plan with national standards in an orderly manner, Hohhot City, which has already introduced a high subsidy plan, told a reporter from "People's Finance" that the Hohhot City government has studied and formulated an implementation plan to align with the national and autonomous region's childcare subsidy policies, and has submitted it to the Autonomous Region Health Commission and Finance Department for record. Following the principle of "not lower than the national standard," Hohhot City aims to integrate with national and autonomous region policies, ensuring that the subsidy for residents will only increase and not decrease. The detailed rules for policy integration will wait for the formal introduction of the autonomous region's alignment plan, after which Hohhot City will further revise and improve its implementation rules, specifying how various types of residents can apply for childcare subsidies and intensifying policy publicity efforts. According to the previously announced plan, starting from March 1, 2025, Hohhot City will provide a one-time childcare subsidy of 10,000 yuan to eligible families who give birth to their first child; a 50,000 yuan childcare subsidy for the birth of a second child, distributed at a rate of 10,000 yuan per year until the child reaches 5 years old; and a 100,000 yuan childcare subsidy for the birth of a third child or more, distributed at a rate of 10,000 yuan per year until the child reaches 10 years old.
