The National Internet Information Office held talks with NVIDIA on the security risks of the H20 computational power chip's backdoor vulnerability.

Recently, it was revealed that Nvidia's computing chips have serious security issues. Previously, US lawmakers called for advanced chips exported from the US to be equipped with "tracking and positioning" functionality. American artificial intelligence experts revealed that Nvidia's computing chips have matured technology for "tracking and positioning" and "remote shutdown." In order to maintain the network security and data security of Chinese users, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law, and Personal Information Protection Law, the Cyberspace Administration of China held a meeting with Nvidia on July 31, 2025. Nvidia was requested to explain and submit relevant proof of the security risks of backdoors in the H20 computing chips sold to China.
