Deputy Director Liu Mingyang of the Electricity Department of the National Energy Administration stated at a press conference on July 31 that the overall power supply for peak load and summer peak is generally guaranteed. During the peak load and summer peak period, if multiple regions experience heatwaves simultaneously, the national electricity load is expected to exceed 1.55 billion kilowatts. It is estimated that in early August, there will be a period of high temperatures, and if extreme weather or widespread consecutive high temperatures occur, the pressure on power supply guarantees will further increase. Currently, the overall national power supply is guaranteed, with some provinces in the East, Central, and Southern regions experiencing tight power supply during peak hours, but effective measures can be taken to manage this situation. The National Energy Administration will strengthen monitoring and analysis of the power supply and demand situation, enhance conventional peak generation capacity, optimize power resource allocation, provide guidance for ensuring power supply at the provincial level, and ensure that the power supply and demand situation for peak load and summer peak is controllable. The bottom line of no blackouts or voltage reduction will be firmly maintained to ensure the electricity needs of the people.
