Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, introduced at a press conference that in the first half of 2025, the country added 3.93 million kilowatts of hydropower grid-connected capacity, including 1.1 million kilowatts of conventional hydropower and 2.83 million kilowatts of pumped storage hydropower. As of the end of June this year, the cumulative installed capacity of hydropower in the country has reached 440 million kilowatts, including 379 million kilowatts of conventional hydropower and 61.29 million kilowatts of pumped storage hydropower. In the first half of this year, the cumulative electricity generation of large-scale hydropower in the country reached 539.8 billion kilowatt hours, and the average utilization hours of hydropower in the country reached 1377 hours.
