Deputy Director Bian Guangqi of the Energy Conservation and Technology Equipment Department of the National Energy Administration stated that overall, since the "14th Five-Year Plan", China's development policy for new energy storage has laid a solid foundation and the industry is steadily developing. By the end of 2024, 73.76 million kilowatts / 168 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage capacity has been built and put into operation, with installed capacity accounting for over 40% of the global total installed capacity. Various new energy storage technologies have been developed, covering major global engineering applications. The level of dispatch utilization is steadily improving, providing strong support for the construction of new power systems.
