National Bureau of Statistics: The purchasing managers' index for manufacturing fell slightly in July, while the non-manufacturing business activity index continued to expand.

According to the Securities Times APP, on July 31, Zhao Qinghe, a senior statistician at the National Bureau of Statistics Service Industry Survey Center, interpreted the July 2025 China Purchasing Managers Index. In July, due to the manufacturing industry entering the traditional production off-season and factors such as high temperatures and heavy rain and flooding disasters in some areas, the PMI dropped to 49.3%, and the manufacturing industry business activity level fell compared to the previous month. In July, the non-manufacturing business activity index was 50.1%, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points from the previous month, but still above the critical point.
