Federal Reserve Chairman: No decision has been made on the September interest rate.
On July 30 local time, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell stated that it is too early to assert whether the Federal Reserve will lower the federal funds rate in September as expected by the financial markets. Powell said at a press conference after the latest round of monetary policy meetings that the Federal Reserve has not made any decisions on the September interest rate. He said, "We will refer to information about the economy before the next interest rate meeting." The Federal Reserve ended its two-day monetary policy meeting on July 30 and announced that it will maintain the target range for the federal funds rate at 4.25% to 4.50%.
