HSBC has just withdrawn from the Climate Alliance, but it is stepping up its efforts in sustainable finance. The bank recently disclosed that it facilitated $54.1 billion in sustainable financing in the first half of 2025, a 19% increase from the previous year, bringing its total green financial amount to $447.7 billion since 2020, gradually approaching its goal of $750 billion to $1 trillion by 2030. The growth in this business, which includes green loans, underwriting, and investment services, indicates that the demand for climate-related capital has not waned.
