On the morning of July 30th local time, Australian space technology company Gilmour Space Technologies attempted to launch its first independently developed carrier rocket "Athena" at the Bowen Spaceport in northern Queensland. However, the rocket crashed near the launch site only 14 seconds after liftoff. Despite the eventual crash of the rocket, the company still claimed the test launch was a "success" because the rocket had "successfully lifted off." Gilmour Space Technologies CEO Adam Gilmour had stated before the launch that achieving this result would be a "success." It is reported that the only "cargo" carried by the rocket was a jar of food sauce made from yeast extract, known as Vegemite, which is considered a symbol of Australia.
