Tsunami reaches many areas in Japan, no abnormal reports from nuclear facilities so far.

On the local time of the 30th, the tsunami triggered by a strong earthquake in the eastern waters of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia has reached multiple locations in Japan. According to various electric companies in Japan, as of now, there have been no reports of abnormal effects on nuclear power plants caused by the tsunami. Hokkaido Electric Power Company and its subsidiary Hokkaido Electric Power Network Company, which is responsible for power transmission and distribution, stated that no abnormalities have been found at the Tomari Nuclear Power Station, thermal power generation equipment, the "Hokkaido-Honshu" interconnection facility, and the new "Hokkaido-Honshu" interconnection facility. Tohoku Electric Power Company stated that Unit 2 of the Onagawa Nuclear Power Station is currently operating normally and no abnormalities have been found, but related operations near the harbor at the nuclear power station have been temporarily suspended. Chubu Electric Power Company stated that they have not confirmed any abnormalities at nuclear power plants within Shizuoka Prefecture and are continuously collecting relevant information. Kyushu Electric Power Company stated that Units 1 and 2 of the Sendai Nuclear Power Station in Kagoshima Prefecture are currently operating normally, with no abnormalities detected, and they will continue to monitor changes in sea levels.
