Chengdu police report: A man suddenly felt unwell, causing a loss of control of the vehicle and hitting people, resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries.

The Shuangliu District Branch of Chengdu Public Security Bureau reported that at around 0:06 on July 30th, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Lingang Road and Pearl River Road in Shuangliu District. After receiving the report, the public security authorities quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with the emergency medical department to rescue the injured, and simultaneously carried out traffic order maintenance and accident investigation. Upon preliminary investigation, it was found that when Wang was driving a small van on that road section, he lost control of the vehicle due to a sudden physical discomfort, collided with pedestrians on the roadside, resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries. The injured are not in life-threatening condition. The driver involved in the accident, Wang, was lawfully controlled by the public security authorities at the scene. Testing has ruled out the suspicion of drunk driving or driving under the influence of drugs by Wang. Currently, the accident is under further investigation and processing.
