On July 30, 2025, at 7:24 in the morning, an 8.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in the far sea area off the east coast of Kamchatka. According to monitoring and analysis results, the earthquake has triggered a tsunami, which is expected to have a certain impact on coastal areas such as Shanghai, southern Zhoushan in Zhejiang, and eastern Taiwan. The Tsunami Warning Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a yellow tsunami warning. According to the "Emergency Plan for Marine Disasters", the Ministry of Natural Resources has decided to initiate a level two emergency response for marine disasters in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai at 10:00 on July 30. The Tsunami Warning Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources is required to update and release tsunami warnings at any time, and the East Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources will organize intensified observations. All relevant units are required to carry out monitoring and warning, consultation, assessment, and disaster investigation and evaluation according to their responsibilities.
