On the morning of July 30, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. A journalist asked about the recent severe power outage on the island after Typhoon "Danas" hit, with the three billion subsidy for offshore photovoltaic facilities being destroyed and a phenomenon of "more photovoltaic panels, longer power outages" occurring. Some public opinion on the island pointed out that this exposed the failure of the Democratic Progressive Party's energy policies such as the "photovoltaic reaching standard plan." What are your comments on this? The spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Chen Binhua, said: "Stability in all things, people's livelihoods are paramount. However, in the eyes of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities, 'people's livelihoods' are not about the livelihoods of the people, but about the business of the Democratic Progressive Party. In order to pursue the interests of one party, the Democratic Progressive Party authorities go against the will of the people, deceive the people, exploit the people, and act recklessly; at the same time, they are incompetent and lack the intention or ability to solve the energy problems on the island. The so-called 'green energy' is nothing more than an excuse and tool for the Democratic Progressive Party politicians to line their own pockets, causing suffering for the people of Taiwan for a long time."
