The report from the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission shows that in the first half of the year, the city added 331,000 new jobs, achieving 55.1% of the annual target; the average urban survey unemployment rate was 4.2%. Residents' income continues to grow. In the first half of the year, residents' disposable income reached 46,805 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, with urban and rural residents' per capita disposable income increasing by 4.5% and 5.8% respectively. The price level rose slightly. In the first half of the year, the city's Consumer Price Index rose by 0.1% year-on-year, with the core CPI excluding food and energy prices rising by 0.5%.
