On July 29, JetBlue Airways announced that its cooperation plan "Blue Sky" with United Airlines has been reviewed and approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and has been allowed to enter the implementation phase. JetBlue Airways stated that this partnership will provide more flexible flight options for passengers of both airlines, and create a new experience of mileage exchange across airlines. According to the plan, passengers will be able to accumulate and use United Airlines MileagePlus miles and JetBlue TrueBlue points simultaneously. The initial phase of customer benefits will be launched gradually this fall, following a phased implementation strategy.
