Blackstone Group announced that Wesley LePatner, a senior executive at the company, was killed in a shooting incident at the company's headquarters in Manhattan on Monday. LePatner was the global head of Blackstone Group's Core+ real estate business and also the CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust. "Words cannot express our grief. Wesley was a beloved member of the Blackstone family, and we will deeply miss her," the company said in an email statement. "She was incredibly talented, passionate, warm, kind, and generous, and was highly respected both within and outside the company."
