The number of effective invention patents and trademark registrations in Zhejiang Province ranks among the top in the country.

Heng Fuguang, spokesman for the State Intellectual Property Office, stated at a press conference that as of June this year, the number of valid invention patents in Zhejiang has increased to 451,000, and the number of valid trademark registrations has increased to 4.916 million, both ranking at the forefront in the country. Zhejiang has accumulated registration data for intellectual property rights of 22,000 pieces, with a total utilization amount of nearly 7.7 billion yuan. By 2024, the amount of credit granted for patent and trademark pledges reached 519.7 billion yuan, ranking first in the country for five consecutive years. Xie Xiaoyun, director of the Zhejiang Provincial Intellectual Property Office, stated that Zhejiang will continue to strengthen intellectual property protection, promulgate and implement comprehensive regulations on intellectual property, and comprehensively enhance legal protection. The State Intellectual Property Office supports Zhejiang in establishing 21 national-level intellectual property protection centers and fast rights protection centers, with 24.6% of invention patents enjoying fast-track examination services, and the average approval period compressed to less than 3 months.
