The State Council's Work Safety Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management issue flood season road traffic safety tips.
Affected by continuous rainfall in recent days, the State Council's Office of Safety Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management have issued road traffic safety reminders for the flood season:
1. At present, it is the flood season, so pay attention to the adverse effects of rainfall on traffic safety. Before traveling, timely obtain local heavy rainfall, flash flood warnings, choose routes with higher terrain, away from streams and river channels, avoid flooded roads and bridges, and never wade through water blindly!
2. We are now in the critical period for flood prevention known as the "seventh down, eighth up." Strengthen comprehensive inspections and management of road sections prone to water accumulation, collapses, and flooding. Enhance traffic guidance and control at key locations such as flooded bridges, underpasses, and culverts. If necessary, take timely measures such as road closures, diversion, and assigning personnel to guard against risky passage.
3. With the overlap of the summer and flood seasons, the risks of public transport activities have increased. Urge road passenger transport companies to enhance targeted driver safety education and training during the flood season, strictly prevent vehicles with malfunctions from being driven on the roads, and adjust transportation plans scientifically based on weather warnings and traffic control information to ensure safe transportation.
