The Phoenix Neck Pumping Station commences water diversion for the first time, realizing the "dual-line diversion from the Yangtze River to the Huai River."
On July 26th, the Fenghuang Neck Pumping Station on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Wuwei City, Anhui Province, started operating for the first time, marking the comprehensive realization of the "dual-line diversion of the Yangtze River" project. The project has set up two water intake points on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Zongyang and Wuwei, transporting river water to northern Anhui and eastern Henan through the Caizi Lake line and the Xizhao River line. The Fenghuang Neck Pumping Station, through the Xihuan and Zhaohuan rivers, diverts water from the Yangtze River into Chaohu Lake, where it merges with water drawn from the Caizi Lake line. The water is then pumped up step by step through the Paigang River Pumping Station and the Shushan Pumping Station, flowing through Wabu Lake and eventually into the main stream of the Huai River. The dual lines together form a water diversion capacity of 300 cubic meters per second.
