The merger deal between Paramount Global and Skydance Media has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission in the United States. After pressure from the Trump administration on the news and entertainment company's political reporting and diversity practices and concessions were made, the FCC approved the deal. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr stated in a statement on Thursday that, as part of the agreement, Skydance has committed to ensuring that the new company's programming reflects diverse views from different political and ideological positions. Paramount will hire an ombudsman for a period of two years to evaluate complaints of bias.
