An incident occurred in Beihai, Guangxi where a collision between a motorboat and a speedboat resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

Journalists learned from the Haicheng District of Beihai City, Guangxi that at 14:25 on July 22, a collision between a motorcycle and a speedboat occurred in the waters near Yugu Sha Island under the jurisdiction of the Diaojiao Street in Haicheng District. After receiving the alarm at 14:42, the Party Committee, government, public security, emergency, marine, cultural tourism, health and other departments of the jurisdiction rushed to the scene, confirmed that the collision resulted in the death of two people, established an investigation team, questioned the personnel involved, retrieved surveillance videos of the surrounding waters, detained the vessels involved, and investigated the cause of the incident. According to preliminary investigations, a group led by Yan went to the area for a leisure trip, during which Yan agreed to ride on the motorcycle with the driver Wu. At 14:25, with Yan in the front and Wu in the back, the two rode the motorcycle out to sea. In the waters about 200 meters from the shore, the motorcycle they were on collided with another speedboat, causing both of them to fall into the water. Nearby vessels immediately carried out the rescue and brought the two people back to shore. Medical personnel on site confirmed that the two individuals had no signs of life. Due to the complexity of the incident occurring at sea, the investigation team is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation. At present, the local authorities are providing consolation and assistance to the families of the deceased, and carrying out comprehensive rectification work on sea-going speedboats and motorcycles.
