Shenzhen plans to introduce new regulations on personal bankruptcy: the longest public notice period is eight years.
The Shenzhen Bankruptcy Administration released the "Shenzhen Personal Bankruptcy Information Registration and Public Notice Measures". In order to minimize the burden and cost of relevant parties declaring information, the Measures stipulate that the Shenzhen Bankruptcy Administration actively promotes the sharing of personal bankruptcy information with the people's court and relevant units, and tries to obtain personal bankruptcy information through information sharing, without notifying debtors, creditors, administrators and other relevant parties to declare. The setting of the active public notice period balances transparency and privacy. If the people's court rules to exempt the debtor from unpaid debts, the Shenzhen Bankruptcy Administration will actively publicize the personal bankruptcy information for a period of eight years, while the active public notice period for other personal bankruptcy information is one year. After the expiration of the public notice period, the relevant personal bankruptcy information will be deleted.
