Dutch international: Tokyo inflation cools but stays high, Bank of Japan's interest rate hike path remains unchanged.
Netherlands International Group economist Min Joo Kang stated that although inflation in Tokyo in July has slightly decreased, it still remains high enough to support the normalization of Japan's central bank policy. Despite the initial success of the Japanese government's measures to curb prices, core inflation pressure in Tokyo remains high. "Nevertheless, we expect the Bank of Japan to stand pat next week," she pointed out. As a result, market focus has shifted to quarterly outlook reports and comments on the US trade agreement.
