Sony to acquire 2.5% stake in Aniplex, with plans to jointly develop and promote anime and other intellectual properties.

On July 24th, Bandai Namco Holdings and Sony Group signed a strategic business alliance agreement. Sony also reached an agreement with the existing shareholders of Bandai Namco to acquire approximately 160 million shares of Bandai Namco held by them for about 68 billion yen. After the acquisition is completed, Sony will hold approximately 2.5% of the total number of issued shares of Bandai Namco.
