The sovereign wealth fund of Singapore has stated that significant changes in the global landscape over the next 10 years will bring challenges to investments. The Singapore government investment company pointed out in its annual report released on Friday the cyclical, structural, and fundamental changes triggered by the intensification of inflation, supply chain restructuring, and the rise of artificial intelligence. GIC CEO Lim Chow Kiat stated that some of these changes will lead to a turbulent and fragmented investment environment, making it much more difficult to prepare for. "Since the beginning of this year, we have witnessed increased market volatility, driven by rising economic policy uncertainty," the fund stated. Lim Chow Kiat added that the fund is now responding to uncertainty with a more cautious attitude.
