National Flood Control Headquarters initiates level four emergency response for flood prevention in Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, and Ningxia.
According to the meteorological department's forecast, from July 24th to 26th, there will be persistent heavy rain in the northern regions, with areas in the northeast of Beijing, western and northern Hebei, northern Shanxi, central-western Jilin, and central-northern Ningxia experiencing heavy to torrential rain, with isolated areas experiencing severe downpours. In addition, Typhoon Fung-Wong, the 7th of this year, will move into the southern part of the East China Sea on the evening of the 24th and approach the coastal areas from southern Zhejiang to northern Fujian, bringing wind and rain impact to the coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian. In accordance with the "National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Response Plan" and relevant regulations, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has decided to initiate a level four flood control emergency response for Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, and Ningxia on July 24th at 3 pm, and initiate a level four flood and typhoon emergency response for Zhejiang and Fujian. The working group dispatched by the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters continues to assist and guide the work in Jilin.
