In the first half of 2025, the national electricity market traded volume increased by 4.8% year-on-year.

According to data from the National Energy Administration, in June 2025, the national electricity market traded volume reached 502 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.2% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the domestic trading volume was 384.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a decrease of 0.22% year-on-year; cross-provincial and cross-regional trading volume reached 117.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year. The volume of green electricity trading was 23.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 15.6% year-on-year. From January to June 2025, the total market traded volume nationwide reached 2.95 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year, accounting for 60.9% of total electricity consumption in the whole society, an increase of 0.52 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, the domestic trading volume was 2.28 trillion kilowatt-hours, remaining flat year-on-year; cross-provincial and cross-regional trading volume reached 670.7 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 18.2% year-on-year. The volume of green electricity trading was 154 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 49.3% year-on-year.
