The latest statistics from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association show that in mid-July, the social inventory of 5 major types of steel in 21 cities was 7.75 million tons, unchanged from the previous period; an increase of 1.16 million tons compared to the beginning of the year, up 17.6%; a decrease of 2.66 million tons compared to the same period last year, down 25.6%. In terms of different types, the inventory of hot-rolled coils and medium plates decreased compared to the previous period, while the inventory of wire rods and rebar increased.
