Top 100 counties in the country, Guangdong welcomes a newcomer. When will Guangdong's first county with a GDP of one trillion yuan emerge?

The National Top 100 Counties, Guangdong adds another member. On July 23, in the latest "2025 CICC Top 100 Counties" list, Huidong County in Huizhou successfully entered the list, forming a "legion" of Guangdong's top 100 counties along with the previously listed Boluo County and Sihui City in Zhaoqing. Compared to the 2024 list, in addition to the addition of Huidong County, Boluo County and Sihui City achieved higher rankings, demonstrating that the overall economic strength of Guangdong's counties has improved. In April of this year, the Guangdong province "Hundred Thousand Million Project" Command issued the "Action Plan for Achieving Initial Results in the Promotion of High-Quality Development of 'Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, Ten Thousand Villages' in Guangdong Province", proposing to strive for breakthroughs in the number of trillion-yuan counties and increased number of strong towns. Looking at the overall development of counties in the province, the goal of breaking through the trillion-yuan county milestone is expected to be achieved soon, with Boluo County likely taking on this task. Boluo County's GDP exceeded 95 billion yuan in 2024, reaching 95.224 billion yuan, an increase of 4% year-on-year. In the first quarter of this year, Boluo County's GDP grew by 6% year-on-year. According to the current development trend, it is expected to break through the trillion-yuan mark in 2025.
